Lineage & Teachers


Sharath Jois:

Sharath is the grandson of Pattabhi Jois and the present director of KPJAYI. He has studied Yoga under his grandfather’s guidance for over 20 years and is now guiding students who come to practice under his guidance in Mysore.

 

John Scott and Lucy Crawford: 

 

John is a dedicated and direct student of Sri Pattabhi Jois since 1989. John was introduced to Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga by Derek Ireland. Two years after John began his studies with Guruji – Shri K Pattabhi Jois of Mysore India, and since then has continued to grow in the practice and share the practice worldwide with many other students on the path of yoga. John was certified to teach Yoga by Guruji in 1993.

 

Lucy is a dedicated and direct student of Shri K Pattabhi Jois, since 1993. She has over sixteen years of experience in physical therapies. In 1998 Lucy received Shri K Pattabhi Jois’s Blessing to Teach Ashtanga Yoga. Lucy teaches alongside John since 1994. She is also a very experienced and intuitive bodywork and gives Cranio-sacral therapy sessions.

 

Gingi Lee:

 

Gingi founded the Shala (formerly known as the Sangam Yoga). He has been teaching for nearly 20 years and is one of the country’s most established ashtanga yoga teachers. He apprenticed with the late Derek Ireland and then went to Mysore to continue his studies with Shri Pattabhi Jois. He has taught and inspired many British Ashtanga Yoga teachers and has played a key role in popularizing ashtanga yoga in the UK.

 

Sivananda Yoga vedanta Centers and Ashrams. Nathalie learnt from direct students of Swami Vishnu Devananda, direct disciple of Swami Sivananda and world-renowned authority on Hatha Yoga.

Vivekananda Yogas. Nathalie spent a few months studying Yoga, Yoga philosophy and Yoga Therapy at the reputed Vivekananda Yoga Institute in South India.
